SVEPM Conference & Annual General Meeting 2020
The Annual Conference & Educational Meeting organized by the Society for Veterinary Epidemiology & Preventive Medicine in 2020 will be held in Westport, Ireland. During this three days event the scientists and specialists from the areas of veterinary epidemiology and animal and public health protection will discuss different aspects of epizootic animal diseases with a focus on current hot topics. Interesting selected presentations about recent research on a wide variety of themes including food and feed safety, stakeholder engagement, companion animal epidemiology, Avian influenza, Johne’s disease control, machine learning for disease prediction, modelling interventions, and disease control programs will be part of the scientific programme.

The European Research Area Network on Sustainable Animal Production (ERA-NET SusAn) is organising an Early Career Researcher Workshop, that will be held in Rome (Italy) in Autumn 2020. Aim of the workshop is to bring together European researchers in the early stages of post doc career to work together on a vision of European sustainable animal production.
The main objectives of this workshop are:
• Define key benefits and challenges of sustainable European animal production
• Discuss different alternatives/pathways to a more sustainable European animal production
• Elaborate a coherent vision for sustainable animal production in Europe and formulate a “Narrative of sustainable European animal production”
• Create the basis for a peer reviewed article on the narrative, to be completed after the workshop by the participants
Travel, accommodation, meals and workshop participation will be funded by the ERA NET initiative.
The deadline for the submission of applications is the 28th of February, 15:00 CET.

The 6th World One Health Congress is the world’s premier conference for the worldwide One Health community supporting the idea of an integrated approach to human, animal and environmental health as the best solution to urgent health threats. The 5-day event will be co-organized by the One Health Platform, the University of Edinburgh, Africa CDC and the Southern African Centre for Infectious Disease Surveillance and will give the unique opportunity to meet and discuss with the world’s leading One Health experts. The Congress will include lectures, debates, workshops and symposia in three separate programme tracks: One Health Science, Antimicrobial Resistance and Science Policy Interface.
The Congress has been re-scheduled. The plans are to hold it from 30 October to 3 November 2020, ending most appropriately on the annual One Health Day.
