Lessons from two high CO2 worlds – Future oceans and intensive aquaculture

The Society for Experimental Biology promotes the symposium in Azores Islands, organized by a team composed by evaluable specialists from UK, Cihle, Norway and Canada.

The main topic of the meeting is the effect of the increase of the acidity in both marine and freshwater environments, due to the increase of CO2 in the atmosphere. Aquaculture world has always faced the detrimental effects of pH variation on fish fisiology and performances, often with success.

Climate change and aquaculture scientists are invited to discuss how future research priorities and new mitigation strategies can alleviate negative impacts of high CO2 on future aquatic ecosystems and the sustainable production of aquatic organism.
